KAILUA-KONA — The Kona Elks Hoop Shoot finals contest brought 29 boys and two girls competing in the three age divisions to Kekuaokalani Gym on Saturday.

The top shooters for the day were Layden Kauka, Gerald Galeza and Tito Cabico, all making 21 of 25 shots.

The next step for the shooters is to compare the scores of our competitors with those of the other four Elks’ Lodges in Hawaii, and possibly on to California for further comparison. Should there be a winner in California, he or she would travel with a parent to Las Vegas for competition—paid for by the Elks. The National Finals will be April 14-17 in Chicago Illinois.
